SQL Reporting Services – Successfully installed and configured SQL Reporting Services 2005 on Apphost1a. VEHS wanted to utilize SQL Reporting Services with a new application they are attempting to implement. I also found out that SQL Reporting Services integrates with SharePoint. So I guess that is one more integration to worry about with the SharePoint project.
SharePoint Implementation – We are moving forward with the SharePoint implementation. We as a project team have begun to meet and define the ITS implementation of SharePoint including how to provision SharePoint, who can participate in the various rollout stages, etc.
Documentation – I have worked on documentation for both the SQL 2005 cluster as well as Apphost1a. There will be some shortcomings in the documentation because I can’t write a document that will show someone how to be a SQL DBA, but I will do the best I can to put as much information in the documentation as possible.
Magic Upgrade – I have worked with Julie on the steps necessary to migrate to Magic version 9. I see my role in the project as providing the DBA support and limited IIS support. Julie and I have determined that I will restore the upgraded database to the MS SQL 2005 cluster, and run the upgrade SQL scripts on the restored database. I will also backup the SSL certificate private key and move it to the new server. Julie will take care of the remaining tasks.
Systems Center Operations Manager 2007 – I have worked quite a bit with Guy on fine tuning the ITS SCOM server. We have worked on notifications as well as installing a VU SSL certificate on the web console so our passwords are not sent in the clear. I also installed the SCOM agent on production ITS servers.
MediaSite Implementation – I assisted Scott Evans with portions of the MediaSite implementation. That project required a database as well as some light IIS help from me.
