February MARS 2007

1.       Migration of users off of Its-exchBe01. This will allow us to shut down two servers. Its-exchfe01 and Be01. Plus it will simplify admin group and routing.

2.       Researched Mom (SCOM) 2007 and what it will do over MOM 2005. This was in response to our every dying ITS-Mom01. The current issue is instability, so movement to a beta will not increase our instability.

3.       Worked on research in DST patches for Windows and Exchange. Coordinated with MC on them, but then had to rush into implementation due to mis-understanding.

4.       Numerous Magic tickets, for creation of VUSpace, and Distribution Groups. The abnormal number of magic tickets was due to Tony being in class for 10 days.

5.       Loaded Office 2007 and Vista onto my laptop. This is in response to testing V ista in the workplace. There were numerous machines showing up on the KM server, so we are testing Vista ultimate.

6.       Locked down security access to ITS-Exchbe01. So that machine had to connect to ITS-Exchfe01. This was brought out due to security seeing clients connecting to the Backend on port 80 and not port 443, and connecting directly.

7.       Standing issues on mailgate04 and 05, of max daemon issues, now at 1500. We switched Mialgate03 and 04 so we could test the environment. We concluded this was not an environment issue, and are now focused on the hardware and Connection rates.

8. Started a thought of the day Blog entry, but due to varying workloads, have cut back on them. I need to start them back up, even if no one really reads them.
