- Moved Nettracker’s Oracle database files from disk array to SAN.
- Set up 3 tier structure.
- Tier 1, the fastest storage contains control files, redo logs, temp and undo files.
- Tier 2 contains control files and datafiles.
- Tier 3, the slowest storage contains the flash recovery area, archive logs and backups.
- Configured flash recovery for Nettracker. It will automatically manage the files in the flash recovery area directory.
- Reconfigured Nettracker’s RMAN to backup files while using the automatic db recovery features in conjunction with flash recovery.
- I completed the requested changes to the DNS Request web site.
- I worked on the new RHN Satellite database. I re-imported the data from the old server. Dan ran the upgrade scripts successfully. There is not enough disk space for the backups causing backup failures. Kenon will add storage soon. The database needed to be restored once. Fortunately, I have been keeping the archive logs and was able to restore to 3 days back successfully as requested by the admins.
