1. RHN database UNDO tablespace increased. Recommended using 10GR2 full database instead of the seeded database provided by RHN. The RHN-DB server and instance has already been created.
2. Magic Upgrade testing
a. Move the Magic9 pre-production server to the 1 network.
b. Requested backup.
c. Requested monitoring.
d. Magic 9 will go live Aug 3. The Aug MARS report will detail the entire process to upgrade this application.
3. Provided VUSPACE demographics to Management. These demographics included university and medical center staff and student demographics.
4. Provided a list of auto-maintain lists with moderator status and owners to Cindy.
5. Updated Apphosting web site for
a. Proofpoint admin URL change
b. NEED to KNOW sheet updated.
c. ONCALL procedures added.
6. Magic helpdesk had a few problems.
a. Slowness: applied crystal reports hot fix
b. CSM addition: emptied web submission queue that sent requests to Magic
c. CSM addition: added cname to fix fevs01b sendmail problem that prevented sending email to magic
d. CPU at 100%. The Magic app virtual server was moved to another virtual server. NAI virus protection is a know issue with magic causes 100% CPU usage. The server move may have restarted the On-access virus protection. This was shut off.
7. Spectrum had a database lock and would not function. I accessed the spectrum db console and unlocked database. I wrote out process so that Mark could access this console himself.
8. Checked database backups and notified one admin that their database did not backup. This problem was fixed. I will be meeting with other administrators to document and check new configurations, monitoring and backups of the new db setups at the beginning of Aug.
