Vanderbilt Emergency Medicine residents won first place in the Third Annual Residency Video contest sponsored by Emergency Medicine Physicians, a national provider of emergency department staffing solutions.
Their video, titled “We Vandy!,” took top prize for demonstrating why Vanderbilt’s residency program is “the best in emergency medicine.”
“Our residents are a unique group,” said Corey Slovis, M.D., professor and chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine. “This video certainly shows their creativity and how proud they are to be part of Vanderbilt.”
An award of $10,000 will be given to the program, and $5,000 was awarded to Emergency Medicine resident Christie Sullivan, M.D., for submitting the video.
“Not only did we have a ton of fun making the video, but it is also a privilege to be able to show the country how awesome the Vanderbilt EM residency is,” Sullivan said. “We have a lot to be proud of. Plus, now we have $10,000 to do something cool with.”
That was great. Coming from the marketing side of a medical center, I know how hard it is to promote all the good we do and provide, so a video like this, funny and informational, I feel gets the message to the targeted audeince and many more! Kudos to your hard work on the video, on the song, on writing the lyrics and the awesome b-roll.
Love, Love, LOVED it!! Congratulations!!!
It is great to see that even brilliant people know how to have some fun.
My 19-year old son wants to be a Vanderbilt physician someday and I hope he turns out to be just like one of you!
