According to Gartner analysts David Cearley and Carl Claunch, “A strategic technology is one with the potential for significant impact on the enterprise during the next three years. Factors that denote significant impact include a high potential for disruption to IT or the business, the need for a major dollar investment or the risk of being late to adopt. Companies should factor these technologies into their strategic planning process by asking key questions and making deliberate decisions about them during the next two years.”

Really Cloud Computing. Can we just say outsourcing? My opinion trendy IBM buz word games.
Also what is meant by Advanced Analytics and Security – Activity Monitoring?

Gartner disagrees. They suggests that cloud computing is an evolved version of outsourcing and doesn’t quite fit the traditional model of outsourcing.
Gartner defines could computing as “a style of computing where scalable and elastic IT-related capabilities are provided ‘as a service’ to external customers using Internet technologies.”

What does evolved outsourcing mean? How does it not fit the traditional model? All I see contract negotiations either way.
