The dates for the CSO's GAS Camp (Girls And Science) and BEST Camp (Boys Exploring Science and Technology) are now available.

Applications will be posted on the camps' websites and available at several schools throughout Metro Nashville Public Schools. Students from other school districts & private schools are welcome to attend. Click below for more information about each camp and to find the applications in early February:

Please note, the camps are not residential, so students must either live in the area or have family/friends to stay with in the Nashville area.

Applications for Science Teaching Fellows (STFs) as part of the Scientist-in-the-Classroom Program are now available for download. Read about the program and then download the application. Applications for partner teachers are also available for download.

The CSO's Virtual Scientist Interactive Videoconferencing program is back! Read about the program and sign your class up for a session or two before they fill up! If you aren't already on our videoconferencing email list, sign up for it! You'll receive notices of when we have new videoconferences and other programs available. It will not be shared with anyone else.

Currently in the process of migrating over to the Vanderbilt blog, you may visit the Snacks4theBrain! podcast anytime to download and listen to our bi-weekly broadcast of interviews with scientists and educators who reach out to the world's K12 science students through the myriad programs the Center for Science Outreach offers. Podcasts also feature timely computer tips and fresh "podsafe" music from independent songwriters and performers. Watch for the New Year show, episode 51, when Scott interviews Emmy-winning Denver television personality Steve Spangler of stevespanglerscience.com.

During the summer of 2007, science teachers in Middle Tennessee are invited to register for a one-week science research series that will bring cutting-edge research scientists into dialog with science teachers. Teachers who are interested in collaborating with scientists and professional educators will be able to register beginning February 1 on the CSO website. The schedule for the workshop is currently under development.
