122_2214.JPGThe CSO sponsored a hands-on activity day in biomedical engineering at the Adventure Science Center on January 14th. Volunteers from Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science and graduate students in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt and Tennessee State University were present with hands-on activities and demonstrations for visitors at the Adventure Science Center. Topics included lasers, quantum dots, and making joints with K'nex pieces.

Planning for CSO/MNPS Math and Science Partnership Proceeds

MNPS middle school teacher Mary Henderson in the 2005 Math and Science Partnership workshopScience Coordinator for Metro Public Schools, Sarah Baker, and CSO Associate Director, Vicki Metzgar, are making plans for the summer of 2006. Teachers in MNPS middle schools are eligible to register for the third summer Math and Science Partnership Workshop through the Electronic Registration Online (ERO) with MNPS. Dates for the workshop will be late June and early July, 2006.
